Trading as RTA Pat Testing based in Warrington we provide businesses within the locality an electrical inspection service - portable appliance testing. Mark is a qualified PAT Tester per the City and Guilds 2377-11, Level 3 Award which is based on best practise as defined in The IEE Code of Practice for In-service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment. The need for testing
The Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 state:
As maybe necessary to prevent danger, systems shall be maintained so as to prevent, so far as is reasonably practicable, such danger. Reg. 4(2).
Every employer shall ensure that work equipment is maintained in an efficient state, in efficient working order and good repair. Reg. 5.
Therefore periodic in-service inspection and testing (Portable Appliance Testing) following guidance in the Code of Practice enables employers, landlord and the self-employed to demonstrate due diligence in relation to safety. Electric shock and fires arising from faulty equipment can be fatal! Your insurance company may well demand testing as part of the terms and conditions of your policy.
The actual inspection method
RTA Pat Testing will inspect and then test your workplace equipment with a modern PAT Tester including opening plugs and checking their compliance. Incorrect plugs or fuses will be replaced. Equipment will be labelled as "PASS" Faulty equipment will be labelled "FAIL" and taken out of service. The responsible person will be notified.
We will endeavour to keep workplace disruption to a minimum. If necessary we will consider inspection out of hours. We will also inspect microwaves for any dangerous leakage and label accordingly. The customer will be supplied with a list of the equipment tested and the results, along with recommended re-inspection dates.
